hey kids,
i have to make an email html newsletter thingie. wondering if anyone has any tips, techniques, tutorials, etc. to share. anybody gotten one that was actually cool? many thanks peoples,

well...what kind of help do you need? you can build an html email just like you build an HTML page. The only real difference is that when you reference an outside file (like a style sheet, or image) you need to use the fully qualified domain...

and any one recieving the email in a pop or imap client will probably have to take action to allow the images [read:outside expression] to be loaded.
If you can make it just text you have a better shot of reaching the audience.
I just created one for a company...they got shit ass results...too many images...

yeah - tons of people have their images blocked (especially in the corporate world)
so the less images the better
and make sure it degrades properly because some clients don't display css at all.

They got great samples of what works and what does not. I usually let the system decide what to send, html or text. Somehow it detects if they can read html then send html if not, send text. Its magic i guess. I need to see if i can get referals from all this... gl

The css can be in the html but webmail clients like horde or squrriel mail, etc... will break it. You can use tags like:

This is the last one I did before I left the company because they made me do crap like this.
It's all images and they wonder why they get a .02% click through rate. Ugh... no more.

folks...i just used campaign monitor http://www.campagnmoniter.com to send my email blast, and it is a legit experience. easy to use, great stats, and cheap.... i know i sound like a salesman, but i swear, it's a great product.
