hi all
just wanting to make sure my wireless is secure, how can you make sure your wep is enabled?my maye brought his pc in to my place and picked up what i thought was my secure network with no password.

Do you mean he saw the network ID, or actually joined the network?

yeah joined
his browser just worked.i have the wep password etc, and it seems to be set to use it when connecting.
any apps that can check?

Use mac address filtering.

hmmm.. as a first step I would turn off WEP, apply, turn it on again, set a new key and see if he still gets in... after that, not sure..

If you've got OS X 10.4 or XP service pack 2, use WPA encryption with Pre-Shared Key instead of WEP.
You can use any password you want, and give it to whoever you want to allow access. piece of cake.
