Can someone kindly point me in the right direction?
I'm building a flash interface to play an (already built) .swf containing voiceover audio in the main timeline.
I just need to build a slider volume controller, but all of the reference files I see are for controlling external music type files...
can you steer me in the right direction? thanks in advance!

thanks dude, but that's for controlling volume of an external .mp3. I am loading an external .swf that contains embedded audio (in its main timline).

In the swf take the sound file off the timeline and export it for actionscript from the library.
Then attach it to a named object on the stage (an empty movie clip) using this code:
mySound.attachSound("idName")
mySound is your movie.
idName is the export name of the sound file.use this to play it.
mySound.start(0,999)
and then use the code in the tutorial to control the volume. Ignoring the part where you load an external mp3.

Sorry thats not quite right.
mySound = new Sound(soundMovie);
is needed first.
And soundMovie is the name of the empty clip.
mySound is the name of the sound object attached to it.
Fuck it, its late.
Look here.
