Well, it seems that way.
I hacked phpbb a little bit to show a login form instead of a link to a page with the login form in the header.
It works. but I cannot get the user/password form to be centered along with the other text in that row!
Can someone with more skill please help me out.
This is just a flat html.
thank you please

In IE and firefox the form is aligned to text top, but aligns higher in IE.
Please help!

Doh. By naming this thread 'impossible to align' I've pretty much guaranteed that no one will look at it.
dumbass.
but really, it's possible, I just need a leetass.
COME ON YOU LEETASS GOGOGOGO

I dont have time to help you with this at the mo but I'm pretty sure its a 'box-model' problem. IE uses padding and margin differently than mozilla browsers, do a google search and you'll get some answers!

It's just the fact its a form element, if it's not in a form element it' fine ..aegr.ghsdhreh

does it have a xhtml doctype?
if it does, remove the first line of it. i know, this sounds weird. but often this solves the alignment problem at once.

oh wait, form element you say.
i had this problem as well, vertical alignment fucked up.
after two hours of tweaking i found out that form elements dont really like divs next to it..
try to get rid of them, or use other means to position things around it.

try adding:
form {
margin:0;
padding:0;
}
