small issue

so i am trying to unzip something on a mac and stuffit does its little dance and i see my available space on my comp go down as its expanding the files to the desktop, then....nothing. it finishes and there are no files. i have searched hi and low, and the files disappear!

if its a .zip try bybassing stuffit and using OS X to expand.
cmnd-O or cntrl click and open or maybe select the file from the bottom tear-off.
i never use stuffit anymore. OS X archive to zip is way easier.

i believe the old problem of mac file resource forks being damaged by zipping isn't an issue anymore.. but i don't really understand that ish to begin with.
