Pricing For Bands?

I build websites for bands for something like 300$, which was more like a symbolic payment (cause i dig their stuff)

I think it's one of the qualitys of a good designer (or whatsoever) to have a feel for when he should take and when he should give some.

i did a website for 500 once and hated myself for years

im not trying to put you down, i also used to play around with merch design in the music scene and i know that these money lacking bands will not see it in that moral rational sense of you giving, they will recommend you to other bands with equal or less amounts of money and say your a great guy who does good design for real cheap .
i just believe there's a right time to give, and giving to bands might not be a good idea to make it routine because of those issues ...
p.s. or we could all together scratch this and realize that the reason your charging bands $300 for websites is because your work is that much .. either way .. i have no idea what your process is but just my opinion

300 bucks is a good price if you worked no more than 6 hours
other than that, get out of this business, there's much more you need to learn beside how to click your mouse and download software cracks

I'm pretty happy about the regular clients/projects i have, thank you.. I'm not even gonna start mentioning names
maybe I forgot to mention I'm a musician myself..
