Is there a way in Photoshop or InDesign to rotate individual letters in a text block, individually and with some randomness?
Would this be through character or paragraph options/styles?

photoshop says no.
haven't asked the other one.

have to do it manually as far as I know
both programs handle text in blocks, so if you want different baseline orientations/behaviors, you'll need to separate them out and do it on your own

I will do the single letter shuffle in Illy then.
