Ok, I downloaded this video in AVI format, I wasn't able to see it so I downloaded a 3IVX codec and now I can see, but I can't hear.
I'm on a mac, running the latest version of osx and quicktime pro.
any tips?

download VLC and play it with that

well, it goes beyond of just playing the video, this is for work, and I need to be able to edit the file. If it works in quicktime player I can use it in after effects and final cup, so VLC doesn't help. I need the audio codec.

You are going to need to convert the file first with something like ffmpegx.
maybe it would help to put what you want to do in your original post
