Any resume templates for the mac? I've searched google, but only found the 4 that are already bundled with the app. All of which are total shite.
Most templates only work on PC, anyone seem a decent one for the mac?

Does it have to be in word?

you should be ashamed of your self - unless it's for some college girl who puts out - then your forgiven.

I'm a designer, I prefer design tools. My resume is in pdf, but I've been asked to convert it to word.
I have a decent understanding of word, but it is nowhere near my illustrator or indesign knowledge.Who the hell still functions only in word anymore anyway? I mean acrobat is widely available, its not like I'm using some strange format nobody has the plugin for.

I think I'd rather use Quark...

cant you copy paste your pdf document right into a word file and save it and send it and then get the job to get to pot to forget the moment you had to use ms word!!!

I can copy and paste the content no problem, but the formatting gets all fucked.
I do appreciate you putting that chain of events into perspective for me tho ;)

I don't think I would work for a spot that only took word resumes.

copy from PDF, paste into Text file, copy from Text File and paste into Word.
format yourself in Word

(Feb 23 06, 09:52)I believe the word part of it is purely for the HR people, nothing to do with the art dept.
If the price is right, I'll dance.

ok since it screws the formating, dont copy paste the words but rather place the pdf image into the document keeping everything as it should be to get the job to get the pot to forget his ridiculous moment ever happened.
:)

who needs formatting. TDR never bothered with it...

I hear ya, make sure to use basic system fonts or it will swap the font's in the document so use Arial, Times, Veranda, etc.

I keep my resume as simple and Bullsh*tty in terms of fonts and design as possible.

I think the reason they want Word is to have a text-based format that they can plug into their database. Just copy the text and put it in a Word file. Keep it very simple.

get acrobat pro or find someone with it... or send it to me...
file>save as>word doc

right right, good advice you all.
I have this probelem, where I always want things to look pretty.
I mean it just stands to reason, if you are a designer and looking for design work, all your media should look polished and pretty.

I totally agree with what others have said, you don't need a "template" because the resume should be simple. Just use bullet points and make it nice an clean. Leave the design skills for your portfolio.
People want the resume in word version because they forward it to marketing directors, the president or others within the company, and sometimes they will even add a line or two to your resume, of their notes or something, like "this person will be available on xx/yy /06,
Now as far as formatting, do whatever format you want, and then save it as "RTF" version. with RTF the format won't get screw up with a PC opens a Mac doc or vice-versa. If you can find a template that is saved as RTF, or if you ask someone to resave their word doc as RTF, you'll see that the format won't look screwed when you open it.
Good luck,
Sourfly.
