I've done a logo for a bar that incorporates a kind of rorschach ink blot/fractal pattern, we're going to use it as a base for a short looped animation (to project onto a wall ) that will basically consist of the form shifting into different patterns/changing colours. I wanted to know the best way of creating something like this (don't know about animation apps), I've got loads of variations of the form in vector, but I was wondering if there's any app that can take 2 extremes and generate intermediate shapes & colours, a bit like a fusion in illustrator but animated? any help much appreciated...

Flash does shape tweening. But it can be a bit shit. Give it lots of help and it might turn out ok.

does it have to be animation?
why not try shooting water/milk drop then play it in slow motion with some color correction?

use the blend tool in illustrator. then separate each step into a separate layer... save the layers as an image sequence and import into After effects...
its may be a little more complicated than that but it this approach would work.

thanks for the help, someone else mentioned after effects but there must be a simpler solution...

after effects would be a simple solution if you follow the illustrator route.
