Punk girl erm... font

So, a client just gets back to me with the following on some type I sent him: "I want it punk but cute. Like a cute punk girl." My mind (quite rightly I think) has gone blank, so I summon your collective intelligences. What the hell does a cute punk girl font look like and where might I find such a thing?

A cute punk girl showed me some comics at a party a few weeks back, you reminded me of it. It's called Squee. That was the first thing that came to mind...

a lot of the cute can be defined with colour; you could use a regular grungy font, then just pretty up the colour scheme, give it a nice border... presto, it's cute, but punk.
alternatively, you could do a little font modification. i tried taking the font 'chick', removing the flower-shaped holes in the e's ans the p's and so on, and repaced them with stars. then i placed it all on a nice fluffy cloud and gradient'd the hell out of it.
that might seem a little too far on the cutesy side, but (i hope) you get the overall impression; make a cute font a bit more punk, or make a punk font a but more cute.

Thanks guys - you've got my brain working again (well, at least to the extent that it did in the first place). I guess the problem was that my initial design was already cutesy (light blue, quite fluffy), so just playing with the colours immediately took some of that away. Maybe when I'm happy with it, I'll post the results up here - a bit scared of the 'crit' aspect of what goes on here tho.
