Sorry. I just posted but my title was obscure and I am desperate.
I am trying to get a lot of information from one Mac to the other. I have an old G3 which does not react to the T button for firewire transfer.
I need to cure this problem. But I do not know how.
Please help me Please.

Oh a typo. Im stranded!

do you have an external with firewire or usb? Burn cds? If you have wireless on it and a wireless router you can setup a wireless network and create a server and transfer that way.

can't you just connect the two with an ethernet cable and turn on file sharing. the hd icons should popup on each other's desktop.

you can connect them directly with a cable - but you need a crossover cable, which is a normal ethernet cable with two wires switched
otherwise you need 2 cables and a hub in between them

recent Macs can use either crossover or regular ethernet cable using intelligent switching or something.. (as long as one of the Macs is fairly new)

Use the Migration Assistant in Applications/Utilities
You'll need a firewire cable, though.

you should be OK with any ethernet cable as long as both are OS X Jaguar at least. Mac OS X can recognize the other machine even if its not a crossover cable. Connect the two machines, restart both and get file sharing going over ethernet and then look up the other machine through "Network" in the finder, it should be there
