I'm taking a trip to Italy with my wife and we have a 5 hour layover in Germany's Frankfurt Airport. What are we going to do for 5 hours at a freekin' airport!?
If you're gonna say "drink", I already thought of that. It will be about 8:30 in the morning there and I think we would look like some freaks.

who cares if you look like freaks, you are only there for 5 hours.

its an airport, only waitron is looking at you. bitte?

A wise & drunk man once said, "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere."

I never understood that, lose the guilt and get wrecked at 8am, why not?

i have no problem drinking at the airport, no matter what time it is. I'm on vacation and Bass goes very well with Eggs Benedict.

HAHAHAHA, that's one of the reason's we liked Venice (italy) so much. They have the Spritz which is an alcoholic beverage they start drinking at 11am and throughout the day to keep the heat down.

5 hours isn't shit in an airport. have you traveled much? i only ask because part of the enjoyment of it is the culture exchange and i have a funny feeling if the answer to the above questin is "no", you will have no trouble at all keeping yourself occupied for 5 hours in that airport....

madirish is right. Think of it as a nice little break. Regroup. Reorganize. Plus trying to figure out where to go and all the lines, you'll probably have little free time there.

If I was a jetsetter do you think I would be asking?

the other aspect here, is that the Frankfurt airport is lovely. and drinking at 8:30 in that airport/country is more common than i would guess in the OK City one.....

sorry, groundst- you will be fine. wasn't trying to be a c0ck.

I love nothing more than getting tore up at an airport bar in the morning, especially if it's during the week where everyone is mostly business and I'm in a suit as a joke going somewhere for fun ordering drinks on the flight and talking loudly about how the stock market truly is unpredictable.

I'll keep that in mind flavorful.
I am a little concerned that our passports haven't arrived and we're leaving on the 24th... They said 6 weeks and that was 5&1/2 weeks ago.

groundst, a little hindsight but expediting passports are always worth the extra cash.
And suspicion as to why you need one immediately.

(Feb 16 06, 13:24)I guess hindsight's always 20/20. Right?
What do you mean about the suspicion thing?

Everytime anyone I know has asked to get theirs expedited, the next thing from the other side of the desk, phone, etc. (actually I don't know what else there would be) has been a slew of questions as to why anyone would need a passport quickly?
In very direct, and interrogative ways.

Frankfurt is awesome, have been through there MANY times. Super hub.
Take the metro around the city. Go near the Frankfurt Opera Haus and walk the surrounding streets. Nice shops, beer and EXCELLENT food!
