Just wondering if it possible to purchase a replacement sound card for an iMac G4?
I have gained access to the motherboard using this guide http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/syste… I just need to know where I can purchase a replacement card.

No, I was hoping it was something that I could fix myself. I took the base apart yesterday, just cleaned some of the dust out in there, it worked until I rebooted today.
I notice that there is no sound card as such for the iMac. Can these things be replaced?

Does it actually come with a 3rd party soundcard?
I assumed that it was an on-board soundcard, as expandibility isn't really one of the iMac's strong points given the lack of internal space.

Yeah it is an onborard sound sound, I guess there is no way of fixing it then without taking it to an apple dealer?
