I'm looking for some examples of strong Law Firm identities with a progressive feel. Any links would be greatly appreciated.

Did someone say "ask mg33, he's been researching stuff like this for more than a year?"

One of the more interesting, non law firm looking web sites I've come across.http://www.cliffordchance.com/ho…

toché, radar. but i would stress "most". there are many that are not, but instead progressive both in practice and politics.

I'm still confused as to why so many firms point out their support of U2's lead singer with "Pro Bono" somewhere on the homepage.

true madirish, and mg33 if by "more interesting" you mean looks like a 2A site your spot on!

stole the words out of my mouth. Look at it this way, when have you ever seen that look in the legal world? Tired as it is to us, it's totally new and different to that industry.

couldn't agree more mg33. having a sig. other in this industry, you have no idea how many times i have heard "look at this crazy site for a firm" when it might be something that anyone on NT would have seen 500 times 3 years ago.
totally relative.
and why i am looking to pick up a lot more work in that industry. :)

yeah - it would work better if they were like a tech/IP firm - but I do like their identity more modern than most.

For those that don't know, I work in Marketing at a mid-sized firm in Chicago. So just as madirish said, when we see stuff in this industry, it's cool when it makes you think of a design firm, architetcure firm, photography portfolio, etc.
We're in the middle of our site being redesigned and redeveloped, both visually and all the content.
The content is my part of it. It's fun because we know the site design is going to be a huge leap forward for us - so on my end I'm doing the first and only content redevelopment we've had in six years. It's nuts how much I've learned, and based on that I'm kind of like you madirish - eventually I'd love to be on the consultant side of things to law firms. All this experience could really put me in a place to say "I've been there, and this is why you suck and need to improve!"
Haha

Also - look up firms in other countries. That's where you'll find great stuff. When I see a site that makes me think of a Swiss typography portfolio, I, I, well, I have to deal with a sudden tentpole in my pants.

nice insights mg33. i would love to just get a steady stream of firms that i could accept or pass along to another that i could design their experience for. but i know what you mean w/ the swiss-influenced stuff- i have seen so many law firm sites it makes me queesy. :)
