It’s amazing how you are all ready to throw Gretz under the bus over allegations.Why didn’t they mention Gretzkys name at the news conference? Since they have all this evidence convicting him of betting. Why didn’t they bring it out along with their glossy pie charts and carefully crafted logo. Why are they leaking parts of the story with no evidence to back it up? Explain.
They want the speculation, so he’s guilty and has to be proved innocent. Classic republican reelection technique being performed to a tee here. But that would mean a reporter would have to investigate and not speculate. You wouldn’t want them doing their job. It much easier to use unverifiable sound bites. Somebody has to question the motives of the police. I guess it much easier to throw the great one under the bus than to do your job.
Lets take a look at this whole scenario:
The police discover they have a crooked cop, so they immediately name the investigation operation slap shot. Because we all know the majority of sports betting in the US is on hockey so it’s a natural fit. It defiantly wasn’t crafted for marketing purposes. They then have a professional marketing crew produce glossy charts and signs with catchy custom made catch phrases and logos. The public is hooked now.
They then drop the word mob. When asked what the connection to the mob is. The detective replies, “we don’t know”. But the damage is done the lazy media has now linked the mob to betting in hockey. That is an example of the manipulation by both the police and the media.
They also cleverly leave a cliff hanger for the public to ensure they get many days of coverage. NHL players are involved. 12 hours later they use the old intentional leak method of dropping the Gretzky name. Where’s the evidence? That doesn’t matter. Speculation is king. They then drop Wayne knew about the ring. Implying the Gretzky was running it with Tochett. Evidence? Who needs evidence. Evidence is inconvenient.
All this is launched between the Super Bowl and the Olympics ensuring that chief wigam will be on the front page of every media source in North America thereby guaranteeing him the spotlight needed to get reelected.
Who needs evidence when you can throw a man with Gretz’s integrity under the bus at the first hint of controversy.
Glossy charts, mob, betting, hockey, no evidence only speculation. Quick you better throw him under the bus before the evidence comes out.
On the bright side this will guarantee Canada gold at the Olympics. Nothing brings a team together like ambushing their leader. Especially one with the class of Gretzky, especially after the way he’s stood by his guys. Oh I forgot gretz is criminal running a billion dollar gambling ring with the mob all the while throwing hockey games. I’ll show you the evidence later. You can take my word.

too funny..hockey is definitely the national religion here....no mistake about that.
but even bigger and more important is our national pastime of not getting our panties in a bunch over a pack of nonsense.
