how do i open a quark doc in indesign cs1? i know it can be done, but can't figure out how. quark 6.1 btw. thanks.

Just open it through the file-open command. The CS will convert the document though, and you will not be able to save it as a Quark file.

tried that, keeps giving me an error. do i have to save the quark down to a certain version?

export it from quark as an eps?

Probably, since i don't think quark 6 was out when CS1 was out, right?

you have to save the QX file down to version 4 the you can open it in ID.

Save Quark-Files as single language, not multiple language documents. InDesign seems to have difficulties with those.

another poster was right.
quark acted like a bitch and since version 5, i think has stopped allowing their files to be opened in ID.You have to save it down to a quark 4 doc. and in order to do that, you have to have version 5 installed on your system. quark 6 won't allow you to save down past version 5.
hope that helped.
