So when I pull something off my desktop and drag it to the trash, I get a msg like this...
"Item will be deleted immediately."
- So my trash never has anything in it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Have you tried restarting?

are you on a network?
- jmteow0
It could be the permissions.

From a forum: "It had to do with permissions. Once I found the INVISIBLE .Trash folder, I was able to Get Info and change the ownership to myself."

Is the item you are deleting sitting directly on the Desktop (in your Desktop folder in the startup disk) or is it on another disk?

peteski is on it, sounds like you are on a network, or appear to be, I suggest suicide.

I know how the network thing works... but thats not it. This is any file sitting on my desktop.

...and i've tried the repair permissions thing... any other ideas?
