Just wondering, when you load external FLVs via Flash 8, do the files still build up in the memory, regardless of if you unload the movies?
So for example, if I load 01.flv in my SWF, and then unload 01.flv and load 02.flv in the swf, will any rememants of 01.flv remain in the memory?
My concern is that the application I'm building will be loading and unloading a lot of FLVs, and I don't want the system to eventually feel bogged down.

Interestingly, I've read that a user on Macromedia forums has tested Flash 8, and has experienced the same long-term memory problems as experienced in Flash 7, irrespective of the "imrpoved" garbage collector handling.
They were, however not using FLVs specifically, rather instances of a component.
Still investigating...

Hmm...I've seen that site before, and have downloaded his program.
My question relates along the lines of long-term memory usage of unloading and loading FLVs, and whether or not.
This is sort of similar to the whole onEnterFrame - BitmapData "fiasco" (exageration?).
I think what I'll do is conduct memory benchmarking using both my own and the 3rd parties FLV player, because I have found scarce information available on this subject.
