are you trying to add another email address to your squirrelMail that isn't from that domain? Cause I don't think there is anything that can do that...

(Feb 3 06, 05:49)you know what squirrlmail are like, i hate it when i'm checking my mails when i'm travelling

w/ Gmail you can send recieve mail from an acccount there as ANY address you wish, as long as you have your mail w/in SquirrelMail sent to that Gmail account as well. I am with DreamHost and do this very thing.
you can also just change the webmail client you have installed on your server at DreamHost with whatever you like w/in the PHP/MySQL flavor. i am going to be going with this when i have the time to do it: http://www.roundcube.net/

madirish, it only take 5 minutes to install roundcube if you follow this

nice link jno- i have that saved here as well. the thing is, an extra 5 min around here to dedicate to this is a luxury i don't have at the moment. :( too much projects and not enough time to sit down and focus on this. besides, i got the Gmail thing workin' which is a nice bandaid for now.... ;)

maybe trying to install it on "DreamHost" instead of "dreamweaver" would be a good place to start.....

Wow, after I saw this thread, spent an hour or so installing this on my host (Dreamhost), and it's fantastic.
I still have to work out some kinks, but it's miles better than Squirrelmail. Thanks for the find!

actually, if nobody mentioned this yet, gmail lets you send emails out through your personal domain email. Just have all your emails fwded to your gmail account. I use this while im away from my personal machine.

think about it... do you really want creepy ol' google sifting through all your emails? i mean, a gmail account is good for mailing lists and stuff, but i would never trust my own personal mail being served through google.
i, too, am on dreamhost. will be doing the roundcube thing sometime this weekend. thanks for that kick-ass link!!

(Feb 4 06, 06:33)why wouldn't you trust gmail? they serve more people than just about any other web host does and they won't even let the gov remove pornographic searches from their engine. how could you not want to go with gmail?
plus, its easy to use, quick, & efficient.
- jmteow0
Plus it's stable, a lot of nice features, and of course, a good search engine.
RoundCube is good for me, because I'm not having to organize a ton of e-mail, and I have lot of creative control over what it looks like.
However, it's still in Alpha, meaning that a lot functionality has to be completed and bugs resolved before it's even worthy of taking users away from other e-mail apps/options.
