Interpol rip offs? INTERPOL RIPOFFS? !!!!
They are ALL Joy Division ripoffs. Blatant too. Too bad Ian off'd himself. He would have some great lawsuits!

I'd go for DM and then leave

Pyeaton, THANKS for pointing that out... time this went public.

Interpol aren't Joy Division rip-offs. Interpol actually sound good!

Joy Division Rip offs? Yeah ok.
My point is She Wants Revenge obviously had suppressed their gag reflexes enough to have Interpol insert dongs well into their esophagus for this recording.
We could go on all day about which corporate puppet bands ripped great bands from the past.

I just don't want to camp out there. Hotel or no deal!
Has anyone gone before and liked it? I've never been to an event this big before, and something tells me it's going to be a big pain in the ass.

I've been many times, and you are correct to think hotel or nothing. The year before last it was 114 in the shade.
It is a pain in the ass, but so damned fun, fun if you're really into the bands. But if you're "just sort of into the White Stripes, because you like that song on the radio" then you will have a shitty time.

I want to see Tool, The Octopus Project (They're playing at the echo in LA before coachella, though) and the GO! team (will probably play in LA around that time, too).
So, pretty much I'm going for Tool.
Everyone else I've seen before in a small venue. Seeing Lady Sov will never compare when I just saw her at cinespace with about 150 people tops there.
Actually, I really think going is a pretty bad idea. But, my best friend called me this morning all excited and I didn't really have a choice. Hopefully Tool will make it all worth while.

It's easily a $500 weekend with tickets, hotel, booze, gas, food. This doesn't include air fare or rental car.
Like I said, worth it if you're really into it.

Tool album to be released on May 2nd. :)
Radiohead album this summer too. :)
Pearl Jam, massive attack, mars volta, deftones, portishead. Yes, finally a good year of music.

Hopefully I'll be celebrating my BFF being cancer free. It's worth $500 bucks to see him smile.
WOOT.
He really wants to go. He really wants me there.

damn skippy cosmo.

Ive been.It's a beautiful area.
But depends on the weather. It was 105 when I was there so I didn't go to the festival until after dark. Its well organized but its huge so it could take you a half an hour to get from one stage to the next so you have to plan out who you want to see.

wow i have never seen a more boring line-up for coachella, ever.
i mean come on look at the bands: wolf parade, Franz Ferdinand, Common, Sigur Ros, Deerhoof, and so on. homeboys may be aight on the headphones, but why would you want to stand and watch these dudes shoooeeegaze for a half hour. boooorrring.
- studderine0
why cant they get band who rock to play these things? i understand the need to mix things up, but shit..what a bore fest.
- mg330
You are very closed minded!
It's laughable that you included, what, five bands to back up your argument?
- emokid0
you need to look no further than Tool if you are looking for bands who rock.
