Is there a way to auto-reload a div layer (only one layer, not the whole page) every five minutes? JS? Is that uberhaupt possible?
Thx.

*bump
I've just googled an hour for a possible solution myself, and returned here to check for responses. To find none.
Is there someone who can help me with the setTimeout function? Where do I have to implement that in an existing js?
To be more specific: I have a div layer with javascript that displays the time in text - it's about a quarter to ten, that stuff - but it doesn't update unless the page is refreshed manually. How can I make it update every five minutes?

I really don't understand much of Js but I think you need to assign that function (setTimeout) to the object (div)
maybe you can search for the syntax to make that that function/object relation work, or look into some code to see how divs are mentioned when some function runs over them.
Maybe this is stupid. Just trying to help.

thx winter, kind to give me some direction ;-) Back to Google...

but if instead of a div you make it an iframe you can easily run a refresh on the header. and it would work on every browser.

have you seen this one? ajax stuff

do it the div + iframe way. why not?

yes. why not?

I did it the div+iframe way, thx for the tip, guys, much appreciated. It's the easiest workaround when you're not familiar with all that scripting stuff. Although I've edited the js a little myself, so the output is displayed the way I want it.
Will post when I 'go live' (*i hate that expression*)
