Not to be an insensitive c*ck, but generally, when you go into a war zone, there's a chance you might get f*cked up.

A fair point.
Go to a Chinese restaurant? You get Chinese food.A fabric store? You get fabric and sewing accessories.
A War? You get f*ing bullets and shrapnel.

by that token you could say that if you were born, you will die. That doesn't mean you don't offer condolences and sympathy when it happens, does it?

last night was the first time in months that I've seen evening news footage of convoys getting slammed by roadside bombs (footage where drivers/passengers were certainly killed), and it was all in a story about this anchor getting wounded. it's such a big deal when someone high-profile gets hurt, but you see nothing about the nearly-daily KIA in Iraq.
strange

He's not dead, is he? just hurt. I didn't want him to get hurt, just stating a point.

After the explosion, Woodruff sighs, and asks the camera man, "Tell me you got that!!"

Ah....
WTF are you watching? Every single soldier killed is mentionied on the nightly news? ....many times by name.
Do they usually have cameras running? If they did would the pentagon release the video?

Its important to mention that a news anchor and camera man (as well as our armed forces) were injured because it underpins the fact that attacks will happen to anyone and everyone at any time. It makes this tragity closer to home.
Its obvious if you are in an MZ you risk injury, but I agree the "I told you so" metallity is pithy.

while I believe they understand that heading into a war zone is dangerous, and they knew that risk going into it, I think the critique here (people are pointing out) is the report itself.
But hey, you have to give the journalists a little bit of props, I mean they probably volunteer to head into these areas, and bring out information for the public... after the govt. Ok's it... of course. FUcking middle men..
also I think a lot more "props" should go to the soldiers, who unlike the journalists, dont have a choice in the matter...
EVEN MORE "PROPS" to the civilians who just want to continue their daily lives, yet get fucking killed for just trying to make it through each day.
