Gday! Ive just moved to the USofA from Europe, and was wondering if you guys could help me to find the best PC in my price range, ive got about 1400$ to spend for a pc and a monitor. Where should I look? Dell? Thanks in advance!

desktops are cheaper than laptops. dell's are no better, or particularly worse, than anything else but their warranty is great. buy three year's worth. if you don't want to have to worry about fixing it yrself, get a dell. they'll get someone in yr house within a few days of it breaking, taking the machine part and fixing it for you. it's great.

Forgot to mention that im looking for a desktop with a monitor in that price range, not a laptop. So what are the most decent companys in US, im new here and know only Dell, Compaq and Gateway, there must be more. Maybe i should save some money and get a iMac but then again, ive never used a Mac.

OK, I am a die hard MAC fan, but if you MUST go PC, there's a ton of Dell deals online, coupon type things for like 20% off certain things... just gotta look.

imac voted best desktop.
you will have less problems changing over to mac then dealing with spyware, viruses and a shit os like xp.pc's are nothing but problems.
likely you are replacing your last pc... get a mac and get to work. get a pc and get to fixing. cause thats all you'll do.the small amount extra you will pay for a 17inch imac is much more worth it than downtime for the xp virus of the minute. why would anyone buy anything that is virus prone knowingly?

Once you go iMac, you never go back
