Mac OS X Partition

  Hi people, do I have to format my hard drive in order to create a partition?

  I am on Mac OS X 10.4.

  Also, when upgrading my iMac's RAM, I noticed another larger slot, is this for adding an another internal hard drive?

  according to the disk utility, yes, it needs to be reformatted.

  with this you don't need to reformat your drive

  but I strongly recommend you reformat, it's the safest and best way of doing things.. splitting up drive with doing it, will always fuck up something..
