check local listings, but in my area if you don't provide a tangable deliverable, there is no sales tax.
so what happens if you provide a backup CD-ROM? hmm...

GST gets charged unless the client is outside of Canada.

PST is the one tax that some of us can work around.

ok 6% has to pass, 10-4. thx! seems like a silly question now that i stop and think about it :P
and yeah, i don't charge PST unless there's product involved.

(Jan 24 06, 09:05)just for the record my OG question was if Harper's -1% GST cut goes into effect immediately.
and the answer is no.

Horton.
Charge PST to the end user only. PST gets paid once, GST gets paid by everyone along the supply chain.

thx - i've been doing my GST/ PST taxes for a few years - was just a Q re. Harper's 6% shpeel.

Nice to know Canadians don't even understand their own screwy tax system. ;)

Horton. If you don't mind me asking, what accounting software do you use? I'm still running MYOB in OS9 on my laptop. I need to make a change.

i gave up on stressing about my taxes a couple years ago and now use an accountant. just hand him a sloppy cash flow register and let him figure the rest out. best money i ever spent.
i used to use QuickBooks.

Hummm... I run a payroll and really need something that does all the monthly deductions and pst/gst returns.
:(

yeah my taxes are relatively simple.
just me myself and i.
