Wait, are you implying that planned parenthood is trying to weed out blacks and immigrants? That it's promoting a plan to require a license to have a child?
That's the point i feel you're trying to make.

gramme the hypocrite (like so many of his red-state bretheren):
despite claiming to be pro-life(pro-birth)... you are ok with killing (even though the death penalty recently has killed an innocent man - and narrowly missed killing dozens of others) in contradiction to the 1st commandment.
you are a conservative despite the fact that most conservatives in this country support war and killing - and stated the only liberal you would support is one that supports war.
and you want to apply your laws and views to other womens bodies despite the fact that the bible you claim to adhere to, in your selfmad of of contradictions, is ambiguous about abortion.
and have yet to name a single politician that is an example of a "moral" one... but were quick to say the war-monger Lieberman was the only "Moral Democrat"
how does it feel to live in such a cloud of contradiction...?

It's there in my work section under self promo, but here's the link for a preview:

Good answer, religion and politics don't mix.

(Jan 23 06, 09:00)That was at least the goal of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood.

It's been well documented in the books I quoted from in the post that started all this.

k0na, can I go design something now?? ;)
gramme
(Jan 23 06, 12:32)Just kidding, k0na. I thought you were the hall monitor. Say you haven't stepped down... :)

So as I understand it, the prochoice people cite the woman's right to chose to murder the kid because of circumstances like rape (which isnt the kid's fault), incest (which might lead to a child with genetic defects being born = a shortcut to eugenics), and what else ?
What are the other circumstances in which abortion is justified ?

while we are at it we should probably round up all the poor, homeless, insane, retarded and just kill them.
I mean the world is too crowded anyway right, so it's alright. the end justifies the means, no?

Like numerous other Christians, I know, spk. Unlike the caricature that many are sold by Humanist gurus and the like.
And I don't personally know any Christians who "try to force" their beliefs on others. I know Christians who respectfully share their views in civil discourse.

(Jan 23 06, 13:02)and those are the good Christians I know and in fact love, like my parents.

A more adept analogy would be to look at the fact that Jefferson, Washington, Madison all owned slaves and then look to the US Constitution as a means to abolish slavery and later advance civil rights. Times change, civil rights should be interpreted in the present context, and the needs of society in the present day.

gramme
(Jan 23 06, 09:04)that's a desperate argument of the "thomas jefferson owned slaves" variety. read some fran liebowitz already.
or just admit that you're a right-wing freak and stop trying to have arguments about abortion on design forums.

gramme, I've struggled and failed to understand this paradox of liberalism, whose core tenet is supposed to be the advancement and preservation of human rights and yet they somehow reconcile this with the killing of the unborn.
I can only conclude it is yet another result of social darwinism and the belief that we are just higher animals with ultimately no real value.

or what mimio said...

-----------------------There's the tolerance you'll get here, gramme.
If you dissent on the issues, you'll get called names and be ridiculed out the door.

ergo - you would advocate bush, cheney, rumsfeld, rice etc... be tried and punished for the 10s of thousands innocents they have killed in iraq and afganistan? are you working to pursue justice on this matter? if so, how? show us. if not, why not?
do you preach to this to your bush loving friends at church about his crimes against life and humanity?
spk
(Jan 23 06, 12:44)Spk,
If Bush & co. are tried for murder and are found guilty, then yes I would support that decision. Is there anything that I could actually do, peacefully, to make a difference in this matter, besides writing letters to my Congressmen & women? I would be open to constructive suggestions.
I have in the past and do talk to my fellow Christians about my views on Bush and the war. I live in Missouri right now, though I'm actually from Maryland, and am quite surrounded by staunch Republicans. But I keep talking to people..hopefully while maintaining a sense of grace instead of harrassing anyone.

enough with the tired rhetoric. that's your opinion. great. good for you. you still don't have the right to choose for me.

i don't think the point is to make choices for women. women can make many choices. a fetus can't -- but that's a moot point if you don't consider a fetus (at any stage of development) a human life.
