Well, the toic says all, i've got a day in NY to burn... A tip to the Empire State building is on the cards, apart from that, i'm not sure, first visit so want to get in a bit of the touristy gubbins.. Hopefully some more cultured stuff too...
OK well, suggestions is what i'm looking for.

24 hours standing in line at the Empire State Building is more like it.
dont waste your time there, there is plenty of tall buildings in the city. go walk the blocks, find your own place, dont waste it standing in line for a view...
go downtown, to LES go uptown to the Boogie Down!!! go find some new cafe take pictures, but stay away from the Empire State Building, there is enough idiots who just stop in the middle of the side walk with 50 other idiots all wearing color coded tee-shirts surrounded by a million other color coded idiots who just stand there ....
