Anyone seen the new Apple Intel ads on TV?
I think they're in really poor taste, the way they slam PC's. Can't remember the exact phrases that are in it, but stuff like "You've suffered long enough [Intel chips]" and such look really bad for Apple.
As far as I know they've never done ads that literally slam PC competitors. They've usually just stood on the merits of their looks and computer's performance.
What do you think? I think it makes them look really cheap.

I think I wonder how much Kiefer got paid to do those.

too bad that other thread is completely different. that is an apple intel ad that did it again by copying another ad campaign from another company. in this case a music video.
This says it all. Bold as fuck.
"What's an Intel chip doing in a Mac? A whole lot more thant it's ever done in a PC."
WOW.

I didn't know it copied anything, Kona, I just think it's fucking low as far as the dialog goes.
Everyone knows that PC's and Intel chips run networks and servers and all kinds of things all over the world... I don't think Intel chips are "suffering" in being in way more computers than there are Macs in the world.

i think its about time they dissed the pc. people need to realise that theyre a bit shit.

yup, I agree, not the best campaign. But I suppose they have to be on the offense, as now they'll be compared head to head with PCs and people will know for sure what performance you get for the money.
My bet: they'll have to do tons of marketing to convince people to send tons more for a pretty case.
We'll see what the prices are, but I can't see anyone paying for their OS (I'd buy a Mac with Vista, but not OS X), assuming they aren't too much more.

ah c'mon
...its cheeky...if they would say real brand names..that would be something difrent.

the 'switch' campaign pretty blatantly slammed pcs - i usually hate when companies slam the opposition directly, but I don't know, maybe it's because I like apple - but this doesn't bother me.

yes, but remember they have to justify to their users their choice of switching to intel, so instead of:
After all these years, apple realized intel chips (on PC for years) is the riath way to go.
They put it:
The intel chip is now free, and good enough to live inside a mac.

Not sure this was in the other thread, but apparently, Intel's VP wasn't too impressed by the ads.
