...Just been speaking to an associate of mine, and he was telling me that he has received an invoice from a hosting company for best part of £3000 for the past years dns hosting!!! they only handle his domains the actual site hosting is done elsewhere!
He does have a number of domains names that to three different sites - but surely £3k is a bit steep!!!!
Anyone have experience of such charges?

It does sound strange, but if your associate didn't check the costs they can you whatever they like.
It's expensive, but not impossible.

We can and do charge £100+. It's a pain in the ass to hold them, and it requires some level of understanding to handle them corrrectly.

i'm saying from a punters point of view.
123 Reg, for example, charges around £10 a year.
