i just had an idea.
if all of us lie on the '06 AIGA design salary survey, claiming we make much more than we do, we can influence the outcome which we inevitably show our bosses to get a raise.

I think we already do this. I was just poo-poo'd today because I suggested a salary range in Beantown that I can only assume by the reaction was too high for them; and I pulled it from AIGA salary survey.

Management here is extremely adept at making you feel guilty.
That, and we actually get paid fairly decent.

Unless you're highly recommended, they do their part to make it seem like what you're asking for is too much. Either be firm with your offer or look elsewhere. Make sure its reasonable and allow some amount for negotiations. Also check http://www.salary.com
