there's an ity bity button that you have to press with a thin wire .. or a clean toothpick .. it's on there somewhere. you can get it out.

sal, what if it's a partially used toothpick?
I've got 6.5 3-way speakers all the way around in my car (1 in each front door and two on the rear deck). They're sony x-plod's. Reasonably priced and they do sound good. I could use a little more low end, but the mid's and high's are nice. You might think about doing a compact box in your trunk for just 1 10" subwoofer. If it's high powered enough it'll give you a pretty well rounded system. Oh yeah, I've got a Pioneer deck too. Nothing fancy, but most of the decks out there these days put out a fair amount of power.

Get an eclipse brand deck-they play mp3s/cds and durable as fuck. I have one from a about 2 years ago and it is still dope. Or u could go with those old school cd players where you pull out the whole deck and take it with u when you're not in the car.

eclipse are quite nice.
i miss that i really don't drive anywhere much... stereo's just sitting in the car not being used :(

If your gonna go for it, get a decent head unit then amp a sub in the boot and some sweet conponents in the front, turn down your rear speakers ( you really don't need them ) and you will have a stereo that sounds sweet at low levels but can be cranked up when needed.
How much have you got to spend?

that's just gross

i believe there are car radios that you can plug your ipod directly into. that's hot.
