(Jan 13 06, 09:21)While you might be right, why on earth should we trust bartleby?
- gruntt0
just write "Shit man, I've done that for 40 years"
problem solved.

Firty Yeers Expearance
You were applying south of the Mason-Dixon line correct?
- quoo0
a.
b is ugly.
if it's really bothering you, say 40 years of experience
- mr_snuggles0
Is that your final answer?
- paraselene0
ugly?
incorrect is ugly.

It's A:
The s is pluarising the year, rather than being used to show posession.
There is no posession happening..
You wouldnt say 'A 1 year's hiatus', or 'A one week's holiday', it is simply plural.
A.The answer is A.
If other people tell you differentLY (differently is an adverb, all americans who omit LY from their adverbs need a cattle-prodding), then there wrong.(//there..)
- paraselene0
i wouldn't take advice from a man who doesn't know the difference between there, their and they're.

that's what the "//" was for :)
- Baskerville0
It's B
because the experience belongs to the 40 years (which is plural)
If it was 1 year of experience it would be "1 year's experience"
But since you can't say: 40 years's you have to say: 40 years'
easy
