hey kids.. BB1 update:
i'm pretty much done my pages, but spending a couple extra days trying to repair what's left of the spine.
the binding edge pretty much disintegrated on me this week. i've been trying every tape and adhesive i got to make it hold. i think my last session of 3M Super77 spray and tape is gonna hold the pages.. just gotta attach it to the cover again (somehow).
and a couple casualties to note; unfortunately someone down the line taped the backside of scarabin's page 1 to the detached cover, which caused it to tear. i've patched up the best i can. also one of the binding splits was right behind tparson's lovely hand-stitched insert, so tread lightly around those parts.
advice for those waiting for the book and preparing their page in advance; keep it lightweight!
all the thick materials being stuck in are swelling the binding more than it can hold. another 300lb sheet of watercolor paper glued in and the book'll be busted for good. if you can work directly on the book pages, it'll be better off in the long run.
