Illy to PNG?

maybe a dumb question but:
if you have about 10 folders worth of Illy files (about 75 files) and you want to convert them to PNGs (for the web), how can you do that efficiently?
so far its either create an Action in Illy and open up each one individually or try to create a Droplet from ImageReady.
But there's a problem in the opening of Illy files in ImageReady. They all appear to be transparent; I'd like a white background.
Sorry for the rant but I can't seem to figure this one out.
Thanks in advance.

good response there, madirish...
... photoshop will open your illy files w/out issue... so you may want to open one of your illy files - run an action where you save for web... turning off the transparency.
If that doesn't work - maybe add an action where you add a background level to the entire peice that's flood-filled white then 'save for web'.
Do that on one of the files and then set up a batch to export an entire folder (where all your illy files are)...
... Illy does have actions also - I've used them for making repitious patterns etc... but not for something like this. I'm not sure if you can use them in Illy or not. But you do have the 'save for web' option in illy also. In the 'save for web' dialog - you have the option of making teh png transparent or not.
... just a couple of suggestions there. I have a feeling it may end up being a two-step process - i'm not sure how well photoshop's actions will handle importing an illy file - then saving it for web w/out you having to intervene in the process of the action (some actions won't do everything for you - you may have to have a step where you hit 'enter' or something)... anyway.. that's all I can think of - hope it helps some.

wow.
thanks PonyBoy - that is really, really helpful. thanks for the effort - much appreciated!
i reckon i'll open em' up in Illy and then run the export to PNG action over and over again. seems to be easiest.
i guess, in the future, i should save my work in Illy a as a PNG as well?
dunno. i mainly work in Illy and hardly in Pshop. lesson learned i 'spose.
seriously, thank you. this is really helpful.

i was pretty much kidding. ;)
you can run the actions in AI, but they are a bit finiky. if you have to do it for all, i would suggest the Pshop method as well.
but yeah, in the future maybe remmeber to save off one static file real quick i guess.

if you're concerned about colour at all, don't use illy's export feature. it's awful and does weird shit to your colours.
ponyboy's right. open up the files in PS and run a batch from there. if there are a lot of images, you'll be glad you did it. AND if you fuck up, you can easily fix it in no time.
