The red element has been used quite a bit (give me a minute to find examples), but I haven't seen it done like this before - the way it relates/obscures the type I mean
will it always be on a colored background? is legibility important?

reminds me of some skateboarding logos a little. That aesthetic is popular now, kind of like the 45ยบ arrow a few years ago. I think you're safe..

haha ya i'm not planning to use that logo, i already have one designed that i'll put up when i get back home but actually i grabbed the concept from flow and wanted to play around with it. definately too similar of a logo to be in the same industry anyways. thanks for the feedback though
