MacBook Name

I've been reading a lot of unfavorable comments on Apple's decision to change the name of the PowerBook to MacBook. I cannot agree.
I'm relieved with the name change. I can remember back when the PowerPC chip first was introduced thinking what a silly name that was. "Power"? That sounds so childish. Why not name it MegaBook or SuperDooperBook? The new name is consistent with their identity. It is after all, a Mac...
Sometimes a less grandiose, simpler answer is better. Although UltraBook might have been pretty funny.

I agree. I am interested in what might come of the name "powermac."

For me, the PowerMac is a guy at the gym who can lift a lot of weights. The MacBook is a notebook computer made by Apple.

So the non-Pro ones to follow will be simply named "MacBook"?

Sorry if I'm backward here but I really can't be arsed searching in the PVN or on Google...
Where's the 17"?

I agree with you.
I never liked saying powerbook, 3 syllables, 2 is better, MacBook sounds and feels better.

Still. Might as well just call it a PC now anyways... That's 2 syllables.

but it's got INTEL inside, man!! (he sarcastically shouts!)

oh, yeah, where is the 17"?

there isn't a 17" 'macbook' yet. just wait - the two machines released yesterday were just show of trophies. I wouldn't touch them yet - they just wanted to release at the same time as all the windows-based laptops with the same technology instead of being behind the pack like usual.
