even the nicest stuff is so quickly subsumed into the culture it's sort of depressing how fast it looks dated. It's given me "motion fatigue".
I hardly ever watch a motion reel the whole way through anymore, and that's not meant to be a refelction on the quality of the work.

But the question is.... How cool does motion gfx look on ipods!?!?!

rand makes a good point. i find myself less concerned about the quality of the work, and more overwhelmed by the sheer volume of it.
also, again this is a medium thats really just in its infancy. once we all get a little more comfortable with the tools, boundries will again start to break.

whats lame is when people try to pass off web animations compiled together as a demo reel. Motion works been around for years, the tools have just become more accessible. everythings a cycle, its just like when macs came out everyone became a designer or when the web boomed, we got frontpage....

The first post is like saying photography is dead because people have digital cameras and any jackass can take snapshot. An overwhelming majority of people will have garbage work, and some will abuse effects and trends...
As with any industry.
Everybody seems to be getting a little overloaded and unimpressed by media though. That's pretty undeniable.
