It moves pretty fast on my machine, and it's a 3 yr old Powerbook...
- uberdesigner0
dude, they only put the shitheads on nighshift. think about that.

Bumped up to 37 for my lovely uberdesigner. Should help compensate for the browser slow-down in rendering.

v3 you're talentless asswipe. even if you were to spend a 100 years practiceing interactive design your work would still suck. this is the same dynamic that has caused microsoft to produce ugly clunker shit for a decade. go work for them.

ah cool. Well things were much worse than even the site showed. Like the guy who did the original site was lazy as fuck, he'd just copy and paste stuff straight from illustrator. So there'd be 3 paragraphs of text all vectorized as shapes, adding on about 100kb to the site. He really didn't have a clue what he was doing. 3 frame tweens of animation, sticking huge bitmaps in the preloader section, OldSchool buttons galore.
So basically where it is now is a pretty drastic improvement as you know.

fate:
Try using a higher prime number was my suggestion.
I understand the situation. I saw the intial release and took part in the thread.

Also, I came into redoing the site thinking all I was going to do were some simple changes...way off. I basically had to rebuild the whole thing from scratch. Still not up to snuff really, but I was doing matt a favor.

It is a prime number bud, 31 ;)
I'm not worried about ubderdesigner. You don't survive long around here without a thick skin.

to gramme:
please don't make it a popupi always close them instantly
i'd like to see what's in there
just have it open in the same window
i'll resize if necessary but i HATE having my screen taken over
the full screen is part of the reason it renders slowly
to fate:
the secret to smooth flash speed is prime numbers, don't fell bad if you raise it higheralso make sure the transition lenth for animation also uses a prime number
here is a list of primes
http://www.math.utah.edu/~alfeld…experiment with these and i think you'll like the results
also, don't listen to uberdesigner, he's a bitter little man who wastes his time being negative to everyone on this board

lol

you indiana posing piece of shit. go scan some photos in from fashion magazines and add some lines. you've unleashed the fury you fuck!
- fate_0
It's up from 12fps. If you can't tell the difference not my problem. Get a better computer.
- uberdesigner0
if it's 31fps, then it doesn't look like it. make it move faster because it's lame. shit looks like animated gifs.
- fate_0
Yeah I know it's crazy slow! 31fps!!!!
- uberdesigner0
unless you're in isreal, your header should be on the left. also, if you're not going to bump up the frame rate and make it move like dirt, then just make in html.

I actually have 3.5 years of school left ;)
Hey matt, my email isn't working at school, but I've been out of commission since classes started again. I'll take care of the sounds and the Salata section tommorow (Today, technically, but it's 1am)
- BuddhaHat0
I unfortunately didn't get to see the original, but I'm a big fan of this one, esp. the fading gradient on the left menu mouse-overs :)

Works fine on win xp, FF and IE.
