Do any freelancers here have it and can anyone point me in the direction of getting some? Thanks.

Kaiser Permanente only cost me 130/mo. for good coverage when I was freelancing.

get married to a person who has it.

Kaiser Permanente, unfortunately doesn't service NJ which is where i'm located. Thanks for the info though.
And i'm already married to someone without coverage which is why i'm looking. We're planning to have a child, which is what prompted my search.

Hey I have Aetna. I'm over here in Philly, think they're based here too. I pay 150$ a month and its pretty good. I dont need a referral to go to a specialist if that matters.

you'll have to really do your homework on this if you're having a kid. Soem plans have super-high deductibles and you'll end up paying 5 or 10k for delivery of the baby.

Thanks for the replies. Looking at AETNA now and trying to get a sense of what i'm getting myself into.
Thanks for the warning Soler. Are you married and have a child? If you don't mind me asking...

why don't you ask an insurance agent? they should know better.

I don't mind illroot-
no, I'm neither married nor with child, but a few good friends of mine have just gone through it. One guy I worked with directly every day had the best deal going - delivery cost him 1k, and everything else was payed for, besides co-pays. cost him 2k said and done. he just had another actually.

I don't plan on getting sick much, so I only have a Blue Cross 1000 PPO plan, which only covers ER visits if needed. only $50/mo. If you plan on making a lotta trips to your doctors, then this aint for you. This is only good for emergencies.

After doing some reading about health insurance, I think I will hit up an insurance agent.
I just wanted to hear from some of my working brothers as to their experiences. It's better to hear in from you guys as opposed to someone that's trying to "sell" me something.
Thanks again.
