Anyone using it?
The UI completely sucks, it is such a big step backward I think it just hit 1985.

always hated the side bar on the left, i dont use any of them.
hate the advertising.
looks just as poor as all the other MSNs, which is why I use GAIM from my memory stick.
But even that doesnt work at work. Msn server is blocked, bastards.
- bradpitt0
yuck! Lets us know if you have invites.

you can remove the tabs on the left and you can remove the ad with a crack...it looks fat to you cause you have the Default window showing aswell if you hide it ... it wont be as fat... anyway yeah it could have been better... i hate msn messenger cause it keeps packing things like games and being able to draw when that should just be in other products like games or windows colllaboration...
- Ginja0
I agree, I prefer a messenger that is just a messenger, I dont need to nudge people and play games with them I just need to IM them.
I still need a site or a program that can get round the work firewall and run from a stick.

Google Talk is nice...if only they wernt idiots and wasted time on making a new window design with out maximize button and a close buttn that acts like a minimize to tray button HOW stupid are these companies that they cant add another button beside the minimze button with a square to the right side indicating minimize to tray ... Google Talk wasted time making a new window form design and they cant even code a minimize button that works 100% of the time

None of my friends have a G account so they can't use GTalk. And even if they did, just try and get somebody to start using a different IM service.
- HelloWorld0
gtalk works with other IMs aswell forget which ones...

MSN progressively gets worse if you ask me. I really liked 5.0 and the early versions when it wasn't bloated with lame shit like nudges, dancing emoticons and the bulky GUI.
IMO they should have kept it as is, except integrated the msn file transfers in a seperate window where it actually showed the speed of the transfers.
ICQ seems to have suffered a loss in users with aol and msn around but I actually like how that worked much better, at least on PC. It seemed less intrusive and had better file transfer tools.

Ginja - try e-messenger.net - it's web-based (through port 80 to avoid firewalls) does MSN, AOL, Yahoo, and it's fine if you never close your browser like me :)
- Ginja0
e-messenger.net = BLOCKED
meebo.com = BLOCKEDGAIM from USB stick = Connection Error to MSN Server
- Ginja0
Its Websense that blocks everything if anybody knows away round it.
- HelloWorld0
you have to get a crack just to receive files that are mp3 for example...
