Anyone else love this show on TLC?
What an awesome bunch of artists and people.
I'm seriously considering flying down there to get some work done...but I bet there's a long wait list...

I stopped by the place in Vegas last month - I said to myself if I can walk in I'll get some work done...a line out the door - like 60 year old women and their daughters...I imagine the miami place would be the same..

the place i just got a bunch of work done has a big sign in it that says "if you mention Miami Ink you will get your ass kicked then be removed." or something along those lines. funny.

hahah
yeah I can see why the show would piss some other studios off...but Ami and Chris are probably two of the best tattoo artists in the game...so it's probably a lot of sour grapes...

I watched it last night and one of the guys were teaching his artist how to draw the shittest rose I've ever seen.
I was not impressed with any of their work.

Those guys are some amazing artists. but that is some of the most boring television ever. Esp since they give you about ONE second of still for each piece of art! Stop filming the cute girls' idiot faces! They aren't saying anything interesting anyway. show me the work!
...and if someone reads this who knows someone that knows the director, please forward this message to them.

(Jan 9 06, 10:14)Yosh is the apprentice man...and you gotta start somewhere.
If you haven't be impressed by any of their work so far then I suggest you watch a little more of the show! That girl Kat they have on from time to time is simply THE best portrait tattooist I have ever seen....

Here's Chris Garver's work:

Although those are pretty weak compared to the stuff I've seen him do on the show...

I'm not sure what his artistic ability is but I was drawing roses ilike that in the 4th grade. I guess I think you should have some artist talent and just not look the part before you decied to be a tatoo artist.

i'm thinking of driving down there and get a nice little butterfly on my ankle. maybe some nice tribal work too.
// < but i assume y'all already knew that.

No not sour grapes, the dudes in there (urge studios) have months long wait lists as well. a couple of em are big burly dudes and just think the show is utter crap and the fact that more tourist and old ladies walk in and want tattoos because of it. Those people come in and want little flash pieces, not art, that is why.

I just had a custom family crest done on my left arm like a month ago, and I have another appointment Saturday to get a day of the dead skull on the inside of the same arm - working on a 3/4 sleeve.
