Since xmas my 17" powerbook has decided to only do half a days work.
In the afternoons it now decides constantly to put itself to sleep for no reason whatsoever.
This happens about every 10 seconds to around 2 minutes before it sleeps again.Very annoying when I'm trying to work!
I've checked the energy saver but everything is set to never.Anyone else come across this?

try doing that thing where you reset th epower and reset the PRAM.. you know, restart holding ctrl alt p and r or whatever it is.. google to make sure

power source- it turned out the plug wasn't fully plugged in and so the battery never charged and since it never got enough juice it would just shut down.

you know what?
for the last couple days, my 15" pb is doing a very similar thing. mine just goes to sleep for no reason once or twice a day while i am doing work.
i thought it's time to buy a new pb...

try checking yout corners
did you update your latest update from Apple?
that seems to kill your wired ram and makes it die

power source is fine, plugged in and full battery so if one goes the other covers it.
it's my work machine and apple updates are automatic therefore i have the latest, latest.
I'll try resetting the pram, although i have had to do that since OS8 days on a PowerMac!
i'll also check the apple forums to see if there's anything there.
Seems to have stopped now though.

(Jan 9 06, 08:19)I hit it like Fonzie did to the Jukebox on the Happy Days while you weren't looking.
Always does the trick.

hheeeeyyy!! but where's the birds?
anyway ... i checked the apple forums and got 2 suggestions.
1 - run terminal . this indicated an ampage problem so it could be the battery.
2 - reset PRAM which I did.
Seems fine now but we'll see tomorrow!
