thank you very much Tickster, I was just about to embark on a wholly sub-standard custom CMS (no PHP knowledge me :/ ) for a wee client. Now I'll use modx :)

has anyone found anything that can hook up into flash? i can just about get textpattern working.. but its not ideal.

modx can produce a plain text file or maybe even an xml file (I haven't gone through the forum yet) which would work just fine.

yes! modx can produce xml, but sadly flash can only handle html 1.0 tags the wysiwyg uses for example instead of

couldn't you just split/join if you know what to expect from the xml?
something like
.split('strong').join('b') at the end of your xml object pathunless it's sitewide... then it might become a PITA

i can get any of these to work with any site, but someone should target that area...

Expression engine is totally business portal that happens to have blogging capability. I dropped $250 on it and it's worth every freakin penny. You can down;load the code core for free and check it out.
