seems pretty good-- 50 free downloads in a trial membership, and 40 a month for 9.99

does it limit you on the type of .mp3's or having to use them in some default player?

inifite amount of .mp3's via my multiple p2p's and share at FMT.

for instance, i was looking for songs from an early 80s album by rain parade on acquisition x for months--never found any-- and found the whole album on eMusic-- seems worth the 9.99 just to save the time and effort

No limitations. It's the best subscriptions service. Decent site too.

i've been using emusic since the end of 04 and never had any probs. all great stuff + good support.
no limits on what or where you use the files.

forgot - one problem i came across was that many bands with the same name go lumped into one band name - ie Terra Nove (a shite metal band) got added to Terranova (late 90's hip/trip hop collective). i emailed 'em and apparently the problem is being addressed site wide but i'll not hold my breath.

Do they have as much content as Rhapsody and Napster? They're one of the only music sites that doesn't list what's available before you join, unless I'm missing something.

I thought so too, then i saw that if you try to login you come to the "real" site: http://www.emusic.com/browse/all…
