I just came into work but have been listening for the past hour.
I love how they have been testing out the studio live.
The interview on right now is really interesting too.

Could someone state the usefulness and entertainment factor of Howard Stern. Or is it just the same market as those that find "The Man Show" funny?
Frankly, I don't see it.

Do you listen to the show? Everyone has a different sense of humor.

100!

Definitely listening. I am so psyched for Monday!!! Moved to the Bible Belt a few months ago I have been Howardless.
To label it like the man show means you probably never listened. I used to think it was all T&A too, until I really started listening. He has very interesting points on the goverment, human nature, a great interviewer, and you get the feeling that he has reamined a "real" person. I'm sure plenty will disagree.

People who have only seen the E show have a really limited perpsective on what the show is about. All E is interested in is T&A for visual impact. The best parts are them just talking normally but that would not be interesting television. One 'benefit' besides comic relief, especially during otherwise boring commutes, is that by listening to the news you here a lot of stuff that regular news enthusiasts don't hear about for days.

Put it on in the car when I went for a drive, nice suprise for a Friday. didn't expect to hear him.
Loved how he said Martha Stewert is nice, but her daughter is "cunty"
Been listening since.

I found the Man Show to be hilarious!

Not listening... No interest in Howie for many many years. He's a master salesman, though.
I'm a big satellite radio fan... I listen to Sirius through Dish Network & XM online and on my portable XM radio. I feel that Sirius has made a lot of good decisions, but $.5 Billion dollars to Howard Stern isn't one of them. They certainly got a bunch of free advertising out of it, but Howard's audience isn't what it once was; I doubt it will pay off for Sirius.

he's about as funny as pediatric aids

Just activated my Sirius radio. I will be tuned in on Monday. Not just looking fwd to Howard, but many other stations as well. My current vehicle has a tape deck in it! So I have a small portable sirius unit that transmits through the FM receiver. Nice enough for me cuz I don't have to do a full rip out and install in my vehicle.

When I finally decided to jump on board satellite radio for real I was torn between the 2 companies...
I gotta admit I decided based on hardware. Sirius didn't have a portable unit that I could walk around with wearing headphones (plus I was already getting it for "free" through dish network).
What (other than howie) made you choose Sirius over XM?

and this just further seals the deal: http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/…

I got my Sirius radio way before Howard was announced. Been a subscriber for over a year now.
I chose Sirius mainly for the sports it has (NBA, NFL, NHL) and at the time they has just came out with the small Starmate unit that was only $50. I also did the online 3-day trial and really liked the music stations and news options.
I'm not really a Stern guy. I like Howard as a personality and for what he's done. He does have a lot of good opinions, but I find some of the show boring. That said, I will be listening on Monday just to see how it is.
Here's a question for you Sirius folk...I just got my brother a unit for Xmas and his car lighter socket is totally dead (it's not a fuse or anything like that). Is there any other way to get Sirius to work without plugging it in through the lighter? What are the options? Costs? Thanks for the help.

howard is good, so is phil jackson on mondays. sirius is worth it since u can have it in your car and home and office.

Dr_Jayi think you could not be more wrong. howards audience is huge, whats more, he is now no longer censored, this will bring more listeners. i was talking to a sales guy at best buy who says it used to be that xm sold more but now that howard is on sirius they sell 2 sirius to every 1 xm. I am not a fan of howard but i do respect him. that man does not apologize for who he is and makes a craploard of dough. HE KEEPS IT REEEAL!
