The intel Macs have me hoping, but the real thing that I am hoping for is an annoucement on Redbook (or yellowbook depending on what writes it).
Redbook is the name given to the rumor that intel macs, running OSX will be able to run Windows applications natively - just strips out the windows UI and uses the Mac UI.
If that is announced, I will scream like a little girl. Well, more than I do daily anyway.

now that would be awesome luckypp
- RobotGunslinger0
that's just not going to happen imo

I hope they come with Mac Mini DVR's. Id buy one.

Actually the possibility of it happening is pretty good. They have already proven that you can load windows on the intel macs, and Jobs says he has no plans to stop that, so at the very least, you could have a mac that boots OSx and Windows.
Wouldn't take much to make Windows apps play on OSx, just need to stip out the UI, the hardware is there.

installing windows should be no problem if they don't built in a chip to prevent you from doing this, but Mac OS X is still Mac OS X. You can't run linux apps in Windows or Windows apps in Linux even though you can both install them on your pc now can you.

Im going to watch Syriana tonite, pretty stoked.
- mrdobolina0
yeah wrong thread then...
- Luckypp0
Now you cannot, because they compile the code differently, however the OS is not the reason it will not run. Basically they just need to build the complie emulation into the OS and it can do it.
Cause you actually can run windows software on Linux, W.I.N.E. anyone?
It's only M$ trying to keep it's platform closed - it isn't going to stay like that forever.

still sounds a bit too experimantal to me. if they have something like rosetta just for windows apps then that would be nice, but windows applications just running, that's a bit far fetched.. again I know nothing about how comutas really work

just give me the good shit. i'll take anything!
