Morning peeps,
I've got to come up with a few simple ideas for a CD package thats minimal and simple and can be cheaply produced as only 150 are needed.
Theres an event happening where our company are giving away a free CD in a goodie bag but we need to put that cd into something that we can then add our own logos/design to show we're assciated with that CD.
The actual CD has its own sleeve cover that will remain as is... we just need to put that into a simple sleeve/package that we can deisgn.
I wondered if anyone had any ideas on simple packing sleeves for CDs or where I could find them?
Cheers in advance!

No I am not designing for chunks!

Ideastoday®
are 'creatives' round here just getting so lazy that they can't think of their own original ideas?
take a walk from your computer, go round some music shops, look at design books, old Graphis annuals, food packaging in the local supermarket. HONESTLY! - call yourself a designer?!

use a folding cardboard sleave thing.

get a rubber stamp made up, then get cheap cardboard covers. Stamp away!

I agree with konspiracy, have a think about who your company are? what kind of work do they produce? is there anything in the name or branding that you could transfer to the package?
I know its tempting to be lazy sometimes, but like he said, get out, do some research and a bit of brainstorming, also maybe have a look around at some origami sites, some of those have some wicked packaging ideas on them....

Thanks for your help guys - and one thing - I am a designer I am not lazy - I am doing my research - I dont take the easy way way out. Its sad peole assuming stuff and making judgement. I just thought i'd ask the guys at Newstoday to begin with before I get out there, sorry if I do things that way round first - sheesh

glad to hear you're gonna get out there innit and look for inspiration.
you'd be surprised - there are people on here who really do expect things done for them
DavidFelts suggestion of Origami is a nice idea. I remember someone doing something like that in my class at college. Impressive yet stupidly simple.
theres also textiles as well. could get canvas screenprinted then fold it then run around the edges with a sewing machine to make a 'pocket'
try and tie the cleverness of the outer packaging into something to do with your company name or what you do.
for future projects like this ..... instead of giving away a cdrom to people in a goody bag .... i was at a fashion awards thing a few months ago and in y goody bag i got given a 512Mb USB Stick - The stick was branded with the sponsors logo AND on the USB stick was a presentation movie. Nice giveaway as its not somethign someone will throw away (like a CD) - ive still got mine on my keyring.

Hehe, konspiracy.
While we are on the subject, I need to redesign the company website over the next few weeks. Can someone tell me what I should do.
Also, can someone give me the code needed.
And are macs really better for design?
By the way, the USB sticks are a nice idea.
