Hello U.K folks , I am wondering if anyone here know the best way to check my email on my phone?
Currently have a nokia 6600 on vodaphone.
Do I have to sign up for a vodaphone acount and forward my mail to it?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks :)

BTW - No.You just need some SMTP and POP settings for your current email address, your username a password and you're ready to go.

Is it a SymbianOS?
You'll just have to look in the manual to find out where to put the settings once you have them.

(Jan 5 06, 01:27)I am not sure, that sounds familiar. I will go and hunt the manual down.
Thanks for the help. I will go and explore.

if it's not symbian, it'll be the other, but it'll still work the same.

under orange I had to sign up for an orange email account so I could connect the phone before being able to check my POP mail accounts.

the 6600 is a symbian phone.
as long as you have data access enabled on your account you can use email on your phone. As others said, all you need is a pop account.
If your phone is tied to vodafone it may have their settings in it already but you can edit these to reflect your pop account details. I have just had to do this on my N70.

(Jan 5 06, 01:43)That sounds about right - just want you to use their service. It's a phone function, not a supplier function and you can bypass the factory settings..
I ramble....

Yay! Excellent it works!
Thanks for the help everyone, especially determinedmoth.
NT folks came to the rescue as usual...
Cheers :)
