RB's break the game. One Chad Johnson and a David Carr will work with Reggie Bush.
Also without a true superstar running back you have to rely on the Oline. The RB pushes the defense into zone a spy coverage, especially if the RB has explosive speed.
So a pickup of two Olinemen and Bush would fit, provided we can get a good reciever. (I heard Terrel is available.)
And yes, the Texas are managed very poorly. But the stadium is really nice.

Terrible D, coaching, O line and special teams.
huh? You need a new team not one player. So trade Bush for a middle LB, QB and WR. You can use Davis for another year.

If you look at recent history, only one RB was good with a garbage Oline and that was Barry Sanders. No other running back has been able to handle the 5-7 D players in the box the way he has... ever. Oline is an absolute must. Sure a great RB has influence over how every position on D has to play and adjust, but a great Oline can do even more with a so-so back. The trifecta of having a phenom at RB, QB, and WR is a blessing for any team, but without that solid anchor of an Oline, well, the season is going to be really short & shitty.

they should trade the first pick for players and extra picks much like san diego did with vick and eli. through those trades they've been able to build up a potentially dangerous team that's on the rise. RB's are a dime a dozen these days where there is no trade value for players like alexander or james but you can plug in a nigerian third stringer (gado) and get a hundred yards and 2 TD's. davis and wells would be fine with a decent line and some D.

Even Reggie won't do anything for you with that offensive line. You guys almost got Carr killed this year. Maybe trade that #1 spot and get an O-lineman. Besides you already got a RB.

The Walker trade did help, but they drafted really well, much like the 49'er, Dallas, Steeler dynasties. The later mini-dynasties like the Patriots were all done mostly through free-agencies and a well-tuned front office.

i thought we were going to lose the reggie bush bowl the other day. Thank god SF won.
However, I heard that we might not draft him, and if we do that they're looking to trade him off for a few offensive linemen... to hell with david carr.

logan mankins is the offensive rookie of the year.

Shit, you can get several OLz for Reggie Bush...
It will be interesting to see how Bush holds up in the NFL. Everyone there is faster and he's not going to have those open corners and B gaps like he did at the collegiate level... especially if he goes to Texas.

I believe that his stock will diminish slightly after wensday night. Texas is going to hold reggie and win the national championship.

he's good but he ain't barry sanders

trading the pick is a good idea, but, if you keep reggie for his one year rookie deal, and trade reggie away a year or two later, you stand to make a much bigger profit, money and player wise.

reggie bush will have a average career in the nfl.

Think Dallas Cowboys who didn't take the number one pick that one year in the early 90's. Instead they drafted people like Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith and a ton of great D and O line players.
Dynasty!

Um, yah, JazX, they also took Troy Aikman with the number one pick in (I believe) '89.
- JazX0
once in a while they did, but not always. they built that team with players from the 2nd and 3rd rounds

reggie bush will have a average career in the nfl.

(Jan 3 06, 19:31)he's too light now and will get drilled and hurt if overused, the NFL is much faster and tougher obviously.
he's just another Peter Warrick waiting to happen. I'm telling you Texans, trade down for him with someone that needs him a lot more.
- Point50
Jaz is right. That era of rebuilding for the Cowboys was fantastic because it was so tactical. And also, look at the fuckin Oline they had: Stepnoski, Cassias, Allen... unbelievable.
